Indian citizens with a valid US, UK, Canada, Japan, or Schengen visa (or permanent residence) can enter Mexico visa-free for up to 180 days. Otherwise, a consular visa from a Mexican Embassy or Consulate is required. Indians are NOT eligible for Mexico's SAE electronic authorisation system (SAE applies only to Russian, Turkish and Ukrainian nationals).

How to apply, step by step

  1. Check: do you hold a valid US/UK/CA/JP/Schengen visa or permanent residence? If yes โ†’ visa-free, just fly.
  2. If no: book an appointment at the nearest Mexican Embassy/Consulate.
  3. Submit application form, passport, photo, supporting documents and fee.
  4. Receive consular visa stamped in passport.
